Suzanne Christoferson LPC, ATR-BC
Suzanne is an art therapist, a licensed professional counselor, and an artist. She has worked at Art Therapy of Hamden since 2013, as a graduate level intern. She has been fortunate to explore working with diverse populations, in various settings throughout her journey to becoming an art therapist. Past experiences include working in schools and group homes with individuals and groups with intellectual and physical disabilities. She has worked within a clinical inpatient psychiatric and detox unit, at a therapeutic camp for children and adolescents with social, emotional, and behavioral issues, as well as a residential eating disorder treatment center. Additionally, she has facilitated substance abuse groups.Suzanne believes in the power of art therapy, as she has witnessed its ability to provide healing, self-awareness, insight and self-expression through the creation of art in the therapeutic process.
Danit Kenigsztein LPC, ATR
Dani is a Registered Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor. She has worked at Art Therapy of Hamden since 2015. She is a supportive and warm art therapist who uses art materials to create a safe and stress free environment. Dani has had extensive experience with a variety of populations including elderly people, children, and people with intellectual disabilities.
Margaret J. McGovern LPC, ATR-BC
Margaret is a Registered Board Certified Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor. Margaret is the founder of Art Therapy of Hamden and prides herself in recruiting very highly qualified clinicians to join her in ensuring a productive and safe environment. Margaret has been in private practice for over 11 years and is clinically trained. She worked for The Village for Children and Families in Hartford and Bridgeport Hospital Intensive Outpatient Unit in Bridgeport.
